Your Search for Missing People
Trying to find a missing person? I know how it feels... Please try to calm down and try to stay calm though, even if you feel like going crazy...!
When someone has gone missing, it is always best to contact the police. When you go to the police station, take a picture with you. They will be able to use helicopters and other things that might not be at your disposal.
I know it can be frustrating, because you are worried at the same time as having to think constructively...
I know it sometimes just feels best to take the matter into your own hands when doing a search for missing people. But of course after you have contacted the authorities so that they are doing what they can at the same time. Maybe you feel doing something yourself is the only way to get something done and get fast results. So go on out there and do everything you can! You don't just want to sit around and wait for the police to call you back.
So, How Do You Find Missing People?
Remember that you are not alone. Get a lot of help from people around you.
If you are looking for a smaller child that might finally find her way back home, have someone stay at home all the time - to be sure that someone is home when she comes back.
But apart from doing your own search I strongly recommend you to contact a people finder investigation service, if you have not already done so.

about my son who was lost last winter. He was only missing for about an
hour or even less, but it still was scary.
If your child,
friend, sister, brother or parent has ever gone missing, feel free to
share what happened at the end of this page.

When my son was 8 years old, he was missing for a little while - it was really scary...
We had decided to meet about 5 minute walking distance from his school one afternoon.
In the morning he had said that he knows which meeting point I meant. We had met there a few times before so I really didn't think there would be a problem.
That afternoon I went there and waited and waited.
But there was no sign of him (read more...)

- Search for Missing People -
One day my 11 year old didn't come home when he was supposed to. I called his two best friends but none of them picked up the phone. I got a hold of a few other friends of his and a few parents too, but they didn't know where he was.
Two hours went by and I had time to think of the most horrible things that could have happened.
His friend's mom was at work, so she also didn't pick up when I called, but when she finally called me back I got the good news that he was at their house! She thought I had known all along..
When the call ended I was so relived and happy so I started jumping around the house saying:
"Thank you, thank you, thank you, Benji you are OK! From now on I'll buy you all the chocolate you want and I'll be nice and patient with you ever after!"
:)
